I posted this a while ago on the Corvette Forum site but didn't get much help so I thought I would try here. My 95 coupe drives fairly quiet except for the normal in-cabin noises and rattles. When going over bumps (even speed bumps that you find on every other street out here) and uneven roads there are generally NO suspension squeaks. However, I noticed when the engine gets hot enough to get the auxiliary fans running (e.g., on a hot day with air conditioning on), I start getting quite noticeable suspension creaks when going over bumpy surfaces--speed bumps are a cacaphony of sound.
My guess is that something is normally expanding as the engine heats up which is causing something to rub or bind more than under normal conditions. A likely candidate would be the exhaust pipes as these must elongate somewhat as the exhaust gases get hotter. Has anyone else noticed this and does anyone have any solutions?
Thanks,
Doug
