CRITICAL ELECTRONICS?

I have an '87 Z51 standard trans Vette. I am going to install a big block in it, with stand alone aftermarket EFI. I have the fans and overdrive handled without using the computer, and will be bypassing the ABS system. The only thing I want to keep is the digital dash. (Maybe). What do I need to retain to run that? Does the ECM run that??

Then, I want to put the Vette TPI engine in my 1994 GMC pickup, I'm thinking using the Vette ECM if possible. I know the truck TBI computer can be wired in to run the TBI, but I don't want to get into reprogramming that ECM to run the Vette TPI...

HELP! PLEASE!!
