The cruise control would not engage, then the light came on saying Service Traction Control with the icon lighted. Now today while driving the Service Traction Control came on again and at that time the cruise began working. We had to stop at a friends house, then after starting up the engine and traveling several miles the Service Traction Control and icon came on. In the 1999 Service Manuel GMP/99 Y 2 it states in the conditions for enabling the cruise control, the vehicle is not in a traction control event. I have attempted to reset the traction control button, but made no difference. Question is do I have a traction control problem and could it be coming from the ECM that is causing the cruise not to work.

Cruise Control & Traction Control

Question in reference to codes for the cruise and traction control, how do I get the code withour going to the dealer or can it be brought up by someone in Autozone, there are no codes showing on the dash.

HI there,
Simply make sure that the DIC is clear of any messages.
Push and hold the #4 button, and press the #1 button 4 times.
You will see 10=PCM first, then 28=TCS. This code that may be there will be displayed.
Allthebest, c4c5:hb

Sir: C4C5 Specialist Explain what you mean by # 4 Button and # 1 Button for code display in your thread. Where are these buttons located in my 1999 Vette.
