Hi, a few months ago I asked the question what to do about cruise control on my 66 L79 roadster.
The response was to try the " Audiovox Cruise Control unit : CCS 100 universal kit.
See this post if you can, for other comments on unit:

I ordered the kit and installed it last night. Very easy installation , I have attached photos. I put all wires through firewall. I have a cut off switch to neg. distrib wire on inside of car firewall. I ran the blue (unit coil wire) into cabin and attached to my coil wire near switch.
If you have a small block you can see the unused firewall cap just above the clutch shaft. I drilled 1/2 hole and ran convoluted wire hose supplied, through hole.
The kit sell on Amazon.com and other sites for anywhere from $89 to $165 for same unit. So shop around before you buy.
It is the greatest thing since apple pie. It works just like it promises and as you read the other post with comments and directions.
Just like a factory control. I used the dash switch, but you can buy a turn stalk if you like. Kept speed within a mile or two of setting.
Addition to directions in kit and other post:
Set dip switch # 4 to on position for high performance cars. You can experiment with the sensitivity, if it pulls too fast or too slow you can change it.
Put dip switches to 8000 rpm also not 4000 as stated.
If your legs or back hurt from lack of movement and you need to move you feet around, this does the trick just like your modern car.
I took the car out this morning..... 8* but sunny, drove 100 miles up and down Maine Turnpike. It was heaven. I have a 3.70 rear and with the cruise control, I don't feel like I am driving the car with my gas foot. You know how tiring it is on you leg to keep always giving it gas.
Have fun and see you this summer, see map.
