Hey guys and gals are any of your early Corvetters planning on coming to CruiseFest?

We only have 8 registrations in at this time. Get those registrations in so we can know who's coming. It would be great to see some of those solid axle cars and the early Sting Rays pull in at the MAM facilities. What do you say?

Remember, Super Seminars, Tours, Drives, Auto Cross, the Banquet, a Barbeque, and GREAT CORVETTE People. All wrapped up in a wonderful location.

Tom, I have filled out my registration form and will be mailing it in the morning. See you all there. :beer:beer What night is the Hotel doing the Bar-B-Q for the CAC people? Any idea how many people will be there for the event?

What's the count now? Can you update weekly?

Any Camp Grounds recommended?

Joe, I really don't know about that. Maybe someone from the area can chime in here.

It is going up by the day...I Think I saw where we were at around 15 members and about that many guests.

Call Mid America, they can tell you about camping and even give you phone numbers to it. 1-866-428-8489 good luck.

Thank you Mike for the info, I never thought to have them call MAM....:bash Glad that got your registration in.

Any idea how many people will be attending? What night is the Hotel holding the Bar B Q for the CAC people. Did I see or read somewhere that check in for registration starts at 2:00pm om Thursday?

Mike, we are shooting for 100-125 cars (maybe a little lofty goal). IIRC, Friday night will be the BBQ at the motel. And yes, I believe check in will begin around that time. I will be getting to Effingham around 4-5pm, so I am hoping that someone will be getting there a little earlier than that. Andre, would you care to comment?

Tom,

Reading the registration form I don't see a charge for the banquet. Did I miss something?

Tom, I think that the banquet is on MAM, or else we will pay later. Not sure, but I think it's the former.

We (Vinec) and I will be arriving at the Days Inn on Thursday so we will stop over at Mid America Thursday and see what is going on and say Hi to Mike. If anyone else is going to be checking in on Thursday let see about getting together for dinner and a few drinks at the Hotel afterwards. Yes we are bringing some totties

When I talked to the Days Inn this week to check on my room reservation I think they told me only 8 rooms have been spoken for. That is a shame. I hope more people come to this event then that. CAC and Mid America looks to me like they have put a lot into this event and it would be a shame if only a few people show up for it. This will be my first CAC event and I am looking foreward to it. So sign up and lets have some fun.

Cruisefest

Tom, Sent our registration in thur. Will see you a little east of St. lou at rest stop. Remember try to give me eta................................ Billy

Hopefully several of us can go out for dinner Thursday night and if not maybe we can meet pool side for a few drinks. I know we are bringing our drinks.

Sounds like a few more people have signed up to attend. That is good. There may be enough to have a good party :beer:beer:beer.

MAM is advertising for the CruiseFest as well and hopefully we will pick up quite a few more.

You know the big thing is we have tons of great things planned and basically it's all FREE. Paul Koerner (Not sure I got his name spelled right) C4C5specialist, who is a GM World Class Certified Technician, is going to be there giving seminars and troubleshooting problems....for free. All the other informative seminars, by MAM Staff, Performance Choice, American Car Craft (Corvette accessories) are free. The BBQ put on by the motel is free. The banquet put on by MAM, our host, is free. A chance to meet some of the original Corvette Action Center members (Chevrolets tech support team from the 1980's). The only thing that is going to cost anyone anything is the Motel which is giving us a GREAT price. Maybe there is a small fee to attend the winery tour (I don't remember exactly). Anyway, if there is going to be an inexpensive CruiseFest, this is going to be the one.

When all said and done, I really can't believe we won't have 200 or more people in attendance.

Numbers are nice, but from the beginning of the Corvette Action Center we have strived to maintain "Quality" and I've used the tagline in my signature since October of 2000 "Quality over Quantity" and this old boy would rather see folks that come to CruiseFest to enjoy the company of others and support the lifestyle they believe in, than have 500 folks bumping into each other with a frown and snarl.

Numbers are nice but there is something to be said about past CruiseFests where attendance ranged from 40 to 100 folks... Whether this event has BIG NUMBERS of attendance or not, those that decide to come will enjoy what Rob, Lori (CAC & MAM respectively) have put together for us.

I haven't made each and every CruiseFest, I've missed 2, so I can not speak for All the CruiseFests, but I can say that the ones I've attended have GREAT TIMES with GREAT FOLKS and the events put together by the Hosts have been fantastic.. I look forward to CruiseFest #6 at Effingham, IL @ Mid America Motor Works. I am also looking forward to Celebration the Corvette Action Center 10 years of existence, seeing my ole Pal Rob and many others :dance
