Help! Cruising...

So I'm cruising on the highway and I decide to let her run free a little and shove my foot through the floor board. Engine acts as though she's not getting any fuel and starts to "bog" down. Any ideas?

Doesn't happen all the time, just whenever she feels the need to relax. Sometimes she'll take off others the acts up. Any ideas?

Check the fuel pump pressure first. Also did you just put gas in the car since you were out cruising. You would not be the first one to get bad gas. I have seen gas have as much as one gallon of water in a tank full and in those cases
the engine was destroyed. ;helpIf you could give us more information on what you did just before this happened.

Bog down

Yep, check the fuel pressure and quality first. Catch some from the rail into a clear container then allow it to rest. Water will sink eventually. Above all be safe (no fires, sparks, etc. and beware of trapping fumes in-doors)
Then consider the cat. converter. I've seen 1/2 dozen cars with your symptoms (sporadic poor high rev performance) due to plugged cats. If the honeycomb is broken, the trouble may come and go as the flow is restricted or not. Does the cat rattle? If so, it's a sure sign.

Sounds like a fuel system or intake problem. Check the fuel filter and the air filter And replace if clogged or dirty.

I went to look about having my exhaust redone because it didn't pass state inspec. Guy at the shop says its missing both gaskets connecting the heads to the exhaust, plus the everything from cat on back needs to be replaced. I think it might have something to do with the exhaust, so I'll replace that and then see how she does. Thanks for the help. I'm sure fuel filters are in the future or atleast something to deal with the fuel system since she sporatically starts up (only when warm does she give me problems starting). Thanks for the help.

No gaskets would definately fail inspection. However, that seems like a highly unlikely scenario. And he told you to replace from the cat back?

Not saying he's wrong, but I would go to a different inspection station, lol.
