CS1062R Sealed Power Performance Cam - Specs for Springs and Pushrods?

Hello All,

Thanks to JohnZ, Jack, and JHL I decided to use the Sealed Power Performance Cam (CS1062R). I was able to order this cam from Racer's Outlet in Indianola, IA. Their phone # is 515-961-6109, if anyone is interested.

Do you think the Performer RPM springs will be okay with this cam?

Here are the specs for the springs:
EDL-5767 Edelbrock Sure Seat Valve Springs
Outside Diameter of Outer Spring (in): 1.460 in.
Coil Bind Height (in): 1.130 in.
Inside Diameter of Outer Spring (in): 1.060 in.
Inside Diameter of Inner Spring (in): 1.060 in.

.... and here are the specs for the cam:
Int. Duration @ .050": 220
Exh. Duration @ .050": 231
Int. Lift: 468
Exh. Lift: 480
Lobe Separation: 110

Also, I previously used +.100 pushrods, would this size be okay?

Sorry for all the questions, I want to be sure I do it right this time around.

Here’s Edelbrock head specs from eb site; spring specs are what matters most here.

<>Springs: 120 lbs on seat, 320 lbs @ 1.300” … very similar to SpeedPro recommendation … so your eb springs should be fine.

SP CS1062R cam is a hydraulic flat tappet cam.

<>Hopefully you know this & got new lifters too … but if not … anytime you install any brand new flat tappet cam you MUST also install brand new lifters … NO EXCEPTIONS!

<>Strongly suggest you use a moly paste lube on all cam lobes & lifter faces anytime you install new flat tappet cam & lifters.

<>It’s never been clear to me just what was causing your valvetrain problems … so I dunno if existing +.100 pushrods are correct … they probably are … but you MUST check that closely with your new cam & lifters.

You are 'da man! Thank you, this information is great. Yes, I have ordered the cam, lifters, and EB Performer manifold. I'm taking the cylider head to the machine shop tomorrow and will bring all the specs I've received here at CAC to have them check it out.... I plan to order the push rods when I get thier input.

Don't the head install instructions (above link) suggest longer pushrods?????? MOREOVER ... you don't order pushrods until you KNOW what length you need ... it's all but impossible to KNOW until you have all the rest of the valve train installed ... that's when you check length/fit. If you haven't read & know those instructions already ... suggest you learn them before you proceed.

The instructions suggest +.100 longer than stock pushrod when using stock stamped rocker arms (which I am using).

Instructions also imply you may need +.100 ... even with roller rockers.

You had some serious valve train problems ... maybe you bent one or more pr's ... While you have pr's out ... take all sixteen & one-at-a-time... roll them across a pane of glass ... check for straightness.

I did that... all straight, except for the one that had the broken spring.

Guess what ... SpeedPro, Elgin etc etc & others sell individual pr's ... check motor with an In & Ex ... if OK ... get your machineshop to order you another one same length ... doesn't matter if you mix brands on pr's.
