The trouble with Kustoms.

Builder threw away the KISS principal. Although a good color combination (yellow/black) the fake (?) roll bar, pimpmobile wheels and over the top aircleaner (?) probably are turn offs to most in the C1 market I would bet.

I agree 100%. Those parts mentioned ruin the car for me.

I remember thinking it was too busy looking and not being really impressed with the fit and finish. That is going on 2 years ago though. Those Thrush side pipes were tacky back in the '60s. That roll bar diameter is about right for a 1 ton Ford pickup and those wheels look like he took them off of his mid '90s rusty Buick Park Ave. Maybe it's an urban look that I just don't understand.

from the eBay ad questions said:
The Induction System is a one-of-a-kind polished Stainless K&N filter unit made to look like a hillborn/enderle stack induction. It's on a polished Carter AFB 4 bbl Carb with electric choke.

That air cleaner, the sidepipes, the wheels, the roll bar, the interior......they would be among the first items to go. Larry, your car is miles beyond this one.

I hate the wheels on it - too "pimpin" for me. The rollbar should go but it doesn't bother me anywhere near as bad as those side pipes which to me is the worst part of the car - just doesn't look right.
Hmmmmm, really can't decide which I hate worst, the wheels or the side pipes....... h*ll, they both need to go!

Sorry, I have to disagree about the air cleaner though, maybe I have poor taste but I think it's kinda cool looking myself. Maybe a bit boxy looking on the bottom part of it, but the stacks look cool. :)

I'm sorry too, Barry, but to anyone who knows what the name Hilborn stands for, that air cleaner is in the trash as soon as the car is in the driveway.
;)

I'll admit that while I've seen the name Hilborn mentioned thru a few forums before I know NOTHING at all about who or what they are.

it's very possible that if I knew I may feel differently. If that air cleaner is just a cheapo, lousy looking knock-off of something else AND I know what that something else was than I may feel differently but since I currently don't know this I still like the stacks

Yo, yo, yo! :booty

Yo hommies jus do'no good bling.

Bling is the thing!

;LOL

Tom, tell us how you really feel!

I think it has the right direction (ie- sidepipes, chrome, roll bar, custom wheels)... but the execution is VERY tacky.

Well..............

At least he has good taste in his choice for a hood.:upthumbs

Barry,

The air cleaner over that carb is pretending to be injection....injection as depicted in this example photo.

Ain't no carburetor under them stacks. ;)

I'd be embarrassed to own that air cleaner.

Ok. Maybe I was being too critical.:L I really like the alternator and the bumpers look great.

now THAT is seriously cool looking! :)

you know, I seem to recall seeing at Carlisle this year someone in the 63-67 registry parking area had some type of setup with the stacks on it very similar to that pic
