;help Hi everyone winter is coming and everyone is getting depressed, do what i do it's playtime with your vette. I want to change my stock steering wheel for a custom one. So i was wondering 1st do i need a puller and is it a pain in the a**. The steering wheel's i have been looking at mention 300 mm and either a 5 or 6 bolt hub. This is greek to me. Just if anyone can tell me what hub size i am looking and will it go right on and also will i need a horn kit or do most custom steering wheel's come with the button and you just hook up your stock set up to the new wheel. Any help or input would be appriciated. 89 vette
thanks Rich

I used the wheel suppliers adapter and had to make a custom adapter from solid aluminum stock. But the work involved was well worth it.

ZR1 MK,

what brand wheel is that?

Thank's for the help MK. But do i need a puller ? The steering wheels i am looking at are made by Tenzo.
Thank's Rich

Steering wheel is OMP 13" Targa. Looks and performance are fantastic. I would have to check, but the manual probably calls for a puller to be used. It has been too many years since I removed the wheel that I can't remember if I used my puller to get wheel off. If you have an air bag, you better be careful when disconnecting. The deployment circuit has capability of engaging even after power disconnect for approx 20 minutes. Removing and installing the wheel is easy. The custom block was far more involved. If I didn't make the custom block, the wheel would have been in torward the dash too much, but still would have functioned.

Another view.

Yes...you need a puller...but lucky you...AutoZone will loan you one for free.

I have one of these sitting in its box that im going to install (better yet have installed) over the winter along with some major interior changes.

Yep, those are radio control buttons with a total of 3 seperate functions.
