I heard they went out of business.
you know..I checked my source and he told me the same thing......if one person says it...then it is a rumor..if two people say it, then it must be fact......

Berry,
I found out on Sunday that Craig is in California for a while so I guess we'll both be delayed for a short time.

A question that I have, when we reinstall our carbs do we have to prime the bowls before we turn egine over or do we just keep crankin untill it fires over?

Jim,

Since I run with an electric fuel pump, that wasn't an issue for me.......switch on, bowls fill. ;)

But, prior to that, I wasn't inclined to fill the bowls. I figured the extra cranking time gave the oil pump a chance to move some much-needed lubricant throughout the engine (especially a new engine) before it fired.

Of course, on a new engine, I also use the oil-pump drill before dropping the distributor in.

the oil pump/drill is golden on new motors or any that have sat for a while ( i say 2 weeks, but i hate changing cams)
while starter is cranking there isnt enuf oil press to spray cam lobes/lifter bottoms...pour a teaspoon of gas into the carb (throttle closed, choke open) and she fires right now...might need another dose ( NOT while cranking) before mech pump gets goin

Fill the float bowl of the center carb (through the bowl vent tube), let it sit for two minutes, and it'll fire right up. I do that every spring after my cars have been sitting for six months, and they start instantly.

JohnZ,
I was talking to Barry and he said you recommended Craig in Youngstown Ohio to rebuild his carb. I gave Craig a call and he seemed like he would do a good job so thats where I sent my tripowers to. Thanks for the help w/ that and also the fresh start up technique when I get them back. Jim
