My 92's interior isn't in great shape. I was thinking of restoring the plastic pieces or buying a carbon fiber or wood dash kit. Does anybody have any experience with these. I don't know which would look better, black carbon fiber or a very dark wood. It would be much easier than restoring all the parts and a lot cheaper than replacing them. I want the best look possible without killing myself or my wallet.

Just bumping

I think I've seen a thread or two about restoring the dash pieces on 84-90s. The finish isn't smooth painted and it is a process. Try a search. The dash on the 91 and laters is different though.

Looks like I might be on my own on this one.

I've printed the directions on how to do it. Long process. That's why I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the wood dash kits. I think a really dark one would look good. I just don't want to hurt the value of the car.

Any time you make a mod, you hurt the value of the car. I have made plenty of mods to my Vette because I am the one driving and enjoying the car.

IMHO, the use of an aftermarket dash kit in your case, is a great idea. You can customize the dash to look the way you want it to. And this is a lot less expensive than a full blown restoration of your dash.

I say, figure out what will make you happy and GO for it!

I figure if I do it right, it might add to the value of the car. Just got the laundry list from my mechanic. Front brakes and rotors, left connecting rod gone, and a vibration in the tranny. That's the only thing that worries me. Tranny's can be expensive, compared to other parts. And I never know if they are telling me straight. Even if they are recommended. I really want to get this car straight and looking good. I think it's worth it.
