Dead Battery

I have a dead battery in my 93. I put my charger on the battery
( 2 Amps ) and within a few seconds heard a rapid
clicking noise coming from the area of the glove box ( could be under the glove box or behind ...not sure ).

This frightened me so I disconnected the charger ...I have never heard that before when I have had to charge the Vette ...also,
the underhood lights seemed to flicker roughly in time with the clicking ....

Anyone any ideas what is going on ...I am not sure if I should ignore the clicking and let her charge or what ...

It will cause no problem. It's a relay that is crying for more voltage. It will shutup when it gets it. Its typical.

My solution to this was to pull fuses until it was terminated. I believe it was CCM2 fuse
or some CCM fuse that did the trick.

Mine would not stop clicking and I had no charger. It can't be good for what ever it is that's
making the noise.

I have had the same exact thing happen. It will stop clicking once you either charge the battery up, or replace with a fresh battery.

Thanks guys ...I think I am going the new battery route with a trickle charger to keep the battery charge from draining ...

How long to charge

One other thing ...I normally charge using the 2AMP setting
( verus 10 ) ...any reason to avoid the 10AMP setting? About how long should it take to charge up a totally drained battery at 2AMP and at 10AMP.

My 2A / 10 amp battery charger instructions say to use the 10A charge position. Apparently, large batteries will not completely top up on 2A only. 2A is good for small motorcycle batteries and keeping a car battery up once it is completely charged with the 10A position.
