A few of my local club members lost their Corvettes in Hurricane Katrina and have asked about good dealerships to work with in the south eastern USA.

They want to see color combinations in person as well as test drive the vehicles. Any suggestions on dealerships in the MS, AL, FL(panhandle) or GA area?

Thanks
Rain

Thanks!

Rain,I no longer live in Alabama but you might try Nelda Stephenson Chevrolet in Florence, AL. I'm not sure how far you want to drive. It's up near Huntsville which is about 30 miles south of the TN state line. Some of the folks in my former club there bought their cars there. I would avoid Bill Heard Chevrolet, at least in Huntsville. I haven't talked to anyone yet that got good service from them. If you want to drive a long way, the dealer in my small town near St. Louis has a 05 silver coupe fairly loaded. They normally don't get any Corvettes and are anxious to move it, however I don't know how anxious. Hey, now that I think of it, I remember you use to have a picture of when you went through Rainsville, AL. Florence is about directly east of Rainsville on the other side of Huntsville.Hope this helps.

Hey Ron

Most of the ones who are shopping said they could drive 5 hours or so but would like to be closer if possible.
Biggest point seems to be the ability to see the different colors in person.(ext/int) So I guess a dealership with several in stock would be their best selections.

Thanks again
Rain (yes, had a pic of me on the interstate at Rainsville. We were on our way to the Tail of the Dragon that year)

I wonder what will happen to the cars that were water damaged? I certainly feel terrible for the people that live down there, but I hope the insurance companies make sure those cars never make it to the used car lots. And I hope everyone that loses a car gets fair value for their loss.....I kind of doubt that'll happen, unfortunately.

Once the insurance co. comes to get it, there is no telling where it ends up.
sad but true

I just picked up a 2005 c6 with 6,000 miles for 44k today at rogers - dabbs in brandon. I traded my ssr in .The salesman told me he had some more or order and could even find me a c5 before the deal went through on the c6

Thanks for the info - (and yes, YOU have no excuse not to join us on some Vette gatherings)
