Detailing question?

On a '74BB should the vertical supports for the ignition shielding be orange like the engine, gloss black or flat black? Also is there a book avaliable that you could recommend that gives this type info?

I believe they're orange regardless of the engine type or displacement and on C-3's at least, can't recall ever seeing anything else although I'll certainly yield to the NCRS types in the forum.

As for books, I've found the the original "1973-1977 Corvette Fact Manual" (second edition) by Peter J. Locastro to be a prudent and accurate source of information on most aspects of the car including factory specs, decals, production data, crayon/paint markings and factory codes.

The NCRS judging manual for the year of your car will have most of the information on color fit and finish for your car. You can buy it on their website store. There is also a specifications manual which will give you the correct numbers for most parts as well as data on how many where built etc.

If you are looking to do a correct factory restoration these books are invaluable as well as an Assembly Instruction Manual also know as an AIM which shows how each component is assembled including part numbers.

Thanks RED70 for the help, I'll visit that web site today and look for those books. I'm trying to get everything as correct as possible on this car so your help and advice is very appreciated although this is a driver and not a show car.
