I am attempting to get my 1980 vette with an L48 back to somewhere near factory specs. I have installed a "correct" carburetor and the engine runs pretty smooth most of the time. However the previous owner had an aftermarket breather installed and most of the vacuum hoses were routed incorrectly---I think. Does anyone know where I can get a good descriptive vacuum hose "map"?!? I also need to find out the GM part number for the stock intake manifold for the '80 Corvette L48.

Thanks

You need the GM Assembly Manual for your year. That will have diagrams galore in it. Ive used my 1970 Assembly Manual quite a bit. Its valueable to have.

The Assembly Manual will also have the stock number for your correct manifold, or, you could call a Chevy dealers parts dept and they could look it up for you.

;stupid

I run a wireless network on my notebook computer, so I took it out to the garage with me with Doc Rebuild on the screen. That way, I could look at the diagram while I routed the hoses.

Thanks!!

I had not thought about the assembly manual as resource for this info. I have checked out Doc Reuilds but thought the layout was vague. The TVS are just "floating" in air so I am not sure where they are or SHOULD be located. I am not sure the intake on this motor is correct and as such I am not sure the neccessary ports for the vacuum switches are present. This is why I am wanting to find out about the correct intake.

Thanks again!

I ordered a complete hose kit for the 75 and misc parts for the 71, diagrams are much better than on the site, but equally as accurate.

I have been able to locate a VERY good diagram for the emission hose routing in my assembly manual.

Thanks SwaveDave!!

But the intake is definitely not correct!!
I have contacted a Chevy dealer he gave a casting number of 14057054 but this number does not match anywhere. I am not able to find any reference to the intake number in the assembly manual.

Any additional help will be bery appreciated!!

You won't find any reference to the intake manifold in the Assembly Manual, as it was installed at the engine plant. The correct intake for your car is casting #14014432; don't know what the actual GM part number is, but your dealer parts guy should be able to cross-reference it from the casting number.

I got my manifold from ebay. Paid $50.00 then took it to my engine guy and he cleaned it up and resurfaced it. Then checked everything over cost $90.00.
