Recently I've been getting 3 messages pop up on the DIC....Service Traction Control, Service Active Handling, and Service ABS. Up until yesterday, whenever I turned the ignition off and restarted the message would go away. Now it's staying on. I pulled the code and got C1214 HC. There were no other codes. I saw another "tech thread" on CAC which said "C1214 Sol Valve Relay Contact or Coil CKT Open". I couldn't find anything to tell me what a "Sol Valve Relay Contact or Coil CKT Open" was. Can anyone please give me a hand in repairing what it is that needs repair? ;help

did you delete the code?

The H indicates that the code is in 'history' and may not actually be an issue.

Yep. There were actually 4 codes that popped up and I deleted all of them. Restarted the car and got the 3 service messages. Checked the codes again and only C1214HC appeared. I'm going to check/clean the grounds up front on the frame today. I've read on CAC that it's possible it may be a grounding problem.

Brandon at absfixer.com said the grounds have nothing to do with the service code. $150 + shipping. :ugh

Hey Brian! I'd suggest sending a PM to c4c5specialist (Paul) and get his input before throwing money at it.

Every so often, I get error messages on the DIC regarding the "Service Traction Control; Service Active Handling; Service ABS" but it clears after I kill the engine and remove the key for 10 seconds. It seems that the one time it wouldn't go away, it ended up being a wheel speed sensor gone bad... but I can't recall the code displayed.

Thanks for the tip Jane Ann. I'll send him a PM first.

I can't tell you how many times I've removed the key and those darn messages keep on popping back up. In the beginning that seemed to work but it's gotten to the point where they just stay on. I pulled up all the codes on the DIC and deleted them but this one stays on. I'll let you know what
Paul says. :w

Hi there,

Well, SOMETIMES grounds can have something to do with the codes.

All that vendor does is simply desolder a relay and install a new one.

As for the rest, you should be checking the ground source BELOW the battery bolted to the frame rail.

Clean it and then reevaluate.

Make sure also that your 40 AMP megafuse is good that is labeled ABS on the underhood electrical center.

Allthebest, c4c5

Had the same problem with my 02. Started at the end of the season last year pulling code C1214. I cleaned all the grounds and though I had fixed, but is was back in the spring. It was intermittent at first. It would be on for a day or two and then clear up for a couple of weeks. About 3 weeks ago it came on and stayed on. I pulled the EBCM and sent it off to Brandon at ABSFixer. Got the unit back in few day, plugged it in and the problem is fixed, no more C1214 code. :)

Cleaned the ground under the battery and still no luck. But I have the cleanest battery tray around! :thumb
Looks like the next step is to contact Brandon at absfixer to let him know my ECBM is enroute to him.
Thanks again for all your help.
