Is there anyone still offering a kit to install a drain plug in the bottom of the differntial? I found an eckler's part number but it appears to be from a few years ago and they no longer offer it. The kit would contain a drill bit, a tap, and the plug. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Shane

Shane, you don't need to buy a kit, unless you don't have any drill bits, in which case you wouldn't have a drill and then the kit wouldn't do you any good. :Silly

Anyhow, just use common sense, a drill bit of the correct size and the correct tap for the bolt threads you will be using and you'lll be fine.

I used a generic, magnetic drain plug, the type used for oil pans that you can find at any parts store. I then drilled the case just left of center, to a depth of approximately 3/8-inch or so, maybe more, then tapped it according for the plug.

It isn't difficult. :CAC

Thanks for the help Ken,
I actually do have a drill and tap set but it only goes up to about 1/2 inch npt. is the drain plug for the pan a standard npt threading or is it different? I am guessing that I can find a drain plug at an auto parts store.

It's standard unless you specify otherwise. Yes, any parts store. ;)
