Dimmer Switch location?

Last night the dimmer switch on my 92 gave up! The lever still pulls forward and there is still a spring tension pulling it back. My question is the switch in the upper colum under the steering wheel, or down under the dash on the colum?

Thanks

The switch itself is just forward of the steering column to instrument panel attaching bracket. The service manual has an exploded parts diagram of the column and it shows the switch at the end of a rod.

There should be a square wire harness connector going into the switch.

Is it the switch which is at the base of the steering column, or the actuator assembly, which is at the base of the turn signal stalk, and interacts with the dimmer switch with a rod. From what you described, I think you've got to replace the plastic piece which the rod hooks to at the base of the signal stalk. The only alternative is to purchase a foot activated switch, and graft it in.

You gotta have high beams as well as low beams.
