ok, that part your looking fors DISCONTINUED, at the local chevy dealers parts counter and since
Both the ability to seach for parts at other dealers and the willingness to help varies greatly between parts guys.....
you might also want to ask at salvage yards, that specialize in corvettes

Thanks for those links, grumpyvette! I've been very lucky (so far) and only encountered a handful of parts which were discontinued that aren't widely available in the aftermarket. That being said, I've guided a few folks to Corvette salvage yards for things which aren't generally available, either new or rebuilt.

When I first bought my 76 I bought some hard to find parts from Michigan Corvette Recyclers in Blissfield Michagin about an hours drive away. His website has dissappeared but someone local said that he was still in business last summer. I'll add those to my list of favorites.

I get by there often in the middle of the night and everything seems to still be there. They are listed in all of the big search engines but I haven't been able to find a web site either. We should go up there some time. I need a '69-'75 steering wheel and I'm sure you can find a few things you need.

looks like a trip to Riga is not in our future :cry
I just called the 517-486-4124 number and got "Marcos Pizza" the 800 number takes you to CandSCorvettes who bought the inventory last year and are still in the process of moving the inventory to Florida so theres no "Walk in" service. Seems like a nice enough guy on the phone he will deliver to Carlisle so I may be doing some business with him in the future.

I guess that answers that question. Too bad it didn't stay local.

M y local chevy dealer is ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS IN ALL DEPARTMENT'S.The attitude's are the worst part, then i't's list price on everything in the place. I have totaly had it with them. I drive all chevy car's and truck's but I can't buy one there.I do have some luck with the one across the river and at G.M.PART'SDIRECT.COM. TLS

all of those parts place do not have one special part I need for my 1988. That is the shifter knob switch, the one with the 1,2,3,4,R pattern. Does anyone know where I can get one? I have been looking for over two years!

Thanks....vette2vette just emailed me back and they have one availible at a pretty good cost, used off a 1988 but in great shape with knob. Thanks again!!
