DIY ceramic paint?

I've seen a number of places selling a ceramic additive for "any paint", mostly for use in marine, industrial, or roofing applications. Has anyone tried one of these mixed with hi-temp paint on engine parts? Or know of any other DIY coatings for headers and such?
Thanks.

Wow! No answer yet and you posted this in July, Rich? :confused

I haven't had any experience with the stuff, but would have thought you'd have received some kind of response from someone here before now. :o

Welp, guess either nobody knows, nobody cares, or everyone is too busy driving their Vettes...
Oh well. The question is still pertinent if anyone has an answer...

Welp?? I haven't heard that in years, Rich. I'm originally from western PA and used to hear that word all the time. Now, "whelp" - that's another story. :L

Colloquialisms - don't ya just love 'em? :D

Whelp, I do know of a company that makes ceramic coatings for rocket nozzels and stuff.

Aremco products makes ceramics for all purposes under the sun. http://www.aremco.com/a6.html
They do make some spray-on coatings for boiler tubes and other high temp applications. I think the highest temp. is 1500 degrees F. Check it out.

Sure thing, Ken.

I hate to see a link unanswered.
I have used the Aremcobond and some of the Ceramcoat coatings for microelectronic applications, and they are one of the best specialty companies out there.

Many thanks for the link. I emailed them and this is their response:

"Hello Richard,

Thanks for your inquiry.
Please refer to the attached Tech Bulletin A6.
Products you should consider include CP3015-BL, CP3015-AL, CP4000 and
CP4010.
We can sell you one pint of each for evaluation for $ 30.00 each.
We accept Visa/Mastercard.
These are stock items.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Best regards,

Peter Schwartz
AREMCO Products, Inc."

And a PDF was attached that I think is a near-duplicate of the posted page. I'll be ordering one or two of the samples that he recommends and seeing if they work -- and figuring out if I can cure them on the car with a heat gun or just the exhaust heat. I don't want to take the passenger-side one off again...
