Hi! I'm the new guy!
My wife and I recently purchased (for her) a 66 convertible (Nassau Blue with a white top) from Corvette Mike. The car is a driver but in very good shape. We really love the car and it runs and drives nicely. However, I can't help but feel that the suspension/steering isn't quite where it should be. Unfortunately, I have no other experience with Corvettes so I have no basis for comparison. The car just feels kind of "loose". It's not bouncy, it doesn't bottom out, but it sways a bit too much and it's not tight like I would expect. I would appreciate any recommendations on where to start with getting the car to handle like it should.

Thanks,
Jon

Welcome to CAC, Jon.

The two most common causes of what you describe are front & rear alignment and tires.

If you do a search in this C1/C2 forum on "alignment", you'll find posts by JohnZ which describe it well.

Jon Welcome to the forum and good luck with your car.

Pretty good idea telling the wife the car is for her (works every time)As a matter of fact I am presently in the market for a 61/62 to build for my wife;)

Check out the plate on her corvette. And No thats not my wife Its just the vette watch dog

I cant comment if your car is driving correct but I do have to say its very very different then driving a modern day car.

Again welcome and enjoy the car Email me a photo of the car and Ill get it posted for you

Thanks for the advice! I thought about the alignment, but wanted to first find out if there are any common wear items that need replacing before I take it in for an alignment. I've made the mistake on my project car ('76 911) of not replacing all of the recommended items, having alignment and corner balance performed, getting it back and realizing I needed to replace one more item and had to re-align and CB. And yes, the Corvette really is hers...the damned license plate will read: GRLSDRM. However, I really love the car too and look forward to working on it and driving it.
