1964*Coupe

Guest
Hey all,
I'm getting ready to start the body lift procedure to replace all the old 1964 body mount rubber. Even though I don't plan to show the car, I still would like to document all the parts and date codes for various items (ie engine, starter, alt, AC, windows, rear end...etc)
Does anyone have a "fill-out" sheet that shows various items that I need to document or that are normally documented? I expect this to only be a 2/3 sheet form. But I'm not really sure whats out there.... ;help
Any help will greatly be appreciated.
My email is: bri3032001 at MSN dot com. (I spelled it out to prevent spammers).
Thanks
Craig

I made a exell spread sheet for my car, it's been a work in progress and I took the time to list the ranges of accetable dates in note area .Mine is on my computer with immbeded links to photos of the parts and then immbeded links to the supplier who rebuilt them for me.I will see if I can make it useable for some one else. The one I made is strictly for a 1966 427/425 car with a build date of B28.

If your famillur with microsoft excell its a great tool to use because it allows linking.I willl try and clean mine up and send you a copy

Hey, Lose -

if not too much trouble, would love to see what you came up with! I used a Word table to "sort of" document my 1963 Z06 restoration. But, if you have a better looking presentation, I would love to "reuse" your efforts.

IH2Lose,

Now THAT sounds like an interesting use for a spreadsheet. :m Especially with the embedded links.
Bob is there away I can post it here or on my website that I can link folks to it so they could down load it? Or do I have to email it to every one?

I am trying to clean it up now removing the embedded links.I guess actually I should just print it then scan it in as a .jpg for other to veiw the body of it.If some one dosent have the same excell version as me they could not use the sheet anyways

Hi all

if it's handy for anyone, I also have an excel spreadsheet that can be used to put in all your numbers and date codes.
I originally got it off the NCRS website I believe but than expanded on it. It allows you to list important numbers on each area such as VIN, block#, manifold#, dist #, etc all thru the important things you want to include. you can also put in the date codes. I also included additional colums to "rate" or "score" various parts of the car. I found it helpful to use it when searching for a car than also afterwards when I bought my car to keep track of all the proper numbers and the condition of each part.

If you are interested let me know. If enough people want it I can post a link for it on my website (if I can figure out how to do that! LOL)

Larry,

If you upload the file to "you-know-where" :D I can tell you how to post a link here for people to download from.

Barry,
I would like to have that available, also. Hope you can figure it out and then I'll be forced to learn to use excel better.

On my computer It has all of the date codes or part numbers. If a part needs a better descrition there is a little note area that if there is a red triangel in the corner and you roll the mouse over the cell the comment comes up.The wrighting that is underlined links you to the supplier buisness information in my computer, then I have a link in there to bring me to there web site.If I click on the photo link it will bring up a fullsized picture of the part.Anything in red means I need to aquire the correct one.Green means I am good and yellow means I am unsure how to identify the part. The sheet o my computer is completely filled out for my car,

Can I get a soft copy once you filter your personal info out?

This is exactly what I was looking for...
Can you send a soft copy (excel) or whatever format, once you filter your personal information out?? Anyone else who can send me theirs, I would love to have them... :BOW
Thanks
Craig

It sounds like you've done a great, and creative, job with the spreadsheet. Why didn't I think of that?

Thank You!

All I have to say is Bill Gates changed my life and made computers a tool I can easely work on.I think all of the microsoft programs are very freindly to the novice as myself. Any body with excell on there computer can take less then 5 minutes to create this sheet or some thing simular.

If you want a copy just email me and I will send it to you with out the links. If you have excell and are not sure how to use it there are inexspencive books that are simple an easy to read that tutor you on how to use it.For me I hardly ever put pen to paper anymore I just use a spread sheet,

Last fall I was luckey enought to run into a fellow corvette nut (Not a internet forum type) in our hotel lobby at corvettes of carlilse who was a real early riser as my self 5 am or so and I was able to build some spreadsheets for him on his laptop and also showed him how to orginize his photos into photo albums.Me and him spent alot of time in the hotel breakfast lobby waiting for the rest of his group or my family to wake up and start the day.We still stay in touch via email and he now is helping other orginize there restoration data.He recently mailed me a cd of all of his restoration data on a car and you would think it was done by a computer designer not a back yard mecanic.

Larry

that looks like a great spreadsheet. More advanced than mine is as mine doesn't have links and such. Would love to have yours on my system also if you decide to post the file up sometime

If you upload the file to "you-know-where

I have to
fix some grammer.
fix my supplier links
fix the photo albums links and add some more information and should be able to add a link to my signature picture to share with others
