It's rather ironic that Dodge has now taken the wraps off their new Viper Coupe which they claim they did because Viper enthusiasts wanted it. How convenient. :L

Mechanically, there are no surprises here, with the Viper line’s 500-cid V10 generating 500 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque providing the motivation. The company is claiming 0-60 mph in less than 4.0 seconds, and 0-100 mph in 12 seconds, aided by braking performance that brings everything to a halt from 60 mph in less than 100 feet, which is astounding in any car, let alone one that tips the scales at more than 3400 pounds. A Cd of 0.39 is more an asset to the braking side than it is to the acceleration component of that 0-to-100-to-0 performance—the aerodynamic work focuses on downforce and high-speed stability.
2006 Z06: 500 hp, with a coefficient of drag (probably the same as the coupe...) of ~ 0.29, weighs in at a little more than 3,100 lbs with a 0-60 of around 3.5 seconds.

sniff...sniff....mmmmm....anybody else smell something roasting on the spit? :L :L

2005 L.A.: Return of the Viper Coupe, Dodge's Z06 fighter

In the newest issue of car and driver both cars were in articles. Once you look at them closely it is easy to see what kind of car the Z06 really will be. For way less money you get way more performance and looks if you ask me.
