Do reg auto supply houses or catalogs carry these? Would you have to buy it only for GM cars, or could you use it on other brands? Do the C5/C6 also have OBD II? thanks.:w

I purchased one of these off ebay and it works great. My old palm pilot came back to life from the bottom of my closet junk pile. You can also get a old style PDA off ebay that is supported by this device dirt cheap.

It's what you wear when you go swimming.:L

For OBDII, I wouldn't even buy a scanner. Places like AutoZone will scan your car for free, but that would only be good if an AutoZone is near you.

I thought for C5's, you could pull the codes without a scanner?

I have the EASE PC Scan Tool GM OBD1, Heres there site, http://www.obd2.com/

Its great I love it, single best tool I've purchased. My tool will scan all GM OBD1 (82-95), some scanners are ECM/Model/Year specific. I've scanned for many friends and family. I paid 315$ for mine, and like I said it's great, you can save recordings, the charts are wonderful, you can really see what’s going on.:)

I just bought an Actron OBD II Pocket Scan at Kragan for $70. It's just a basic scanner but it comes with a CD that contains all of the code definitions. I used it on my '97 Burb and it worked swell.
