Door lock noise

Recently I've noticed a knocking noise when I use my key fob to unlock my doors. I've also heard it when I pull the key from the ignition. To me, it sounds like the door locks cycling. Actuator? But what would the key removal have to do with it?

I haven't noticed anything not working properly, but I'm concerned this is an issue in the making and I fear getting stranded.

Any ideas?

I hear the door lock or unlock whenever I use the fob. The doors also unlock when I pull the key. There is a setting in the DIC that auto-locks and auto-unlocks the doors. I have that turned on. The doors lock at about 10MPH and unlock when I shut the car down and pull the key.

Nope. My mistake in describing the noise, Jim, but it definitely isn't the door locks cycling. And I was incorrect in describing it as such. It sounds more like a knocking or bumping noise. It sounds three or four times... I've noticed it when I unlock the door with the fob and when I pull the key from the ignition after killing the engine.

Try driving without the FOB using the key to unlock the door leaving the FOB in the house that will determine if it it something in that system (I don't know what it is called) or if it is the locking system coming loose and knocking.
