I would like to remove the door panels from my 64 to take a look inside. There are several phillips head screws that even I can figure out how to remove :-)...Question is, how do you properly remove the window and windwing cranks??? I don't want to force anything, so I thought I'd ask in here for advice re: how to safely and properly remove the panel...

Thanks in advance,

Rick

Rick,

They are held on with a spring clip that goes on the shaft of the handle and then the handle is slid onto the window regulator or vent window regulator shaft. When it is on the right distance it snaps into a grove. There is a flat metal tool that removes the clip and is available at most any auto parts store. Works on about anything GM. You slide the tool behind the handle and push the clip off. Then the handle just pulls off.

Thanks Tom...I would surely have damaged something had I taken to it with a screwdriver (which I almost did).

Thanks again,

Rick
