Driven: 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Convertible

July 04, 2012 / By David Zenlea
Automobile Magazine

For the sixth-generation Corvette's swan song, Chevrolet has finally fixed the car's biggest flaw. No, not the seats or the interior controls. Those are still terrible. We're talking about the need for more power. Although the car has engine options aplenty, the convertible -- arguably the essence of the Corvette -- has until now featured only the 430-hp, 6.2-liter LS3 V-8. Apparently that's not enough for some buyers.

"Ever since we brought out the Z06, we've had customers wanting to have that engine with an open-air experience," says Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter.

The article that Mr. David Zenlea wrote was basically kind to the new 427 Corvette. :w

He hit all the negatives that are normally thrown out and even had positive things to say.
If you want a convertible and lots of power - get in line to buy one now.

Does anyone know if the 427 conv only comes in a white color and blue top?

The 60th Anniversary Edition only comes in White w/ blue interior.

You can order the 427 in any color/interior combo, either HT or Vert. :thumb

The only way to get the 427 in a coupe (hardtop) is to order a ZO6.

The 427 Convertible is just that - convertible. You can get it in any color combination but if you select the Collector Edition - you get it in white with the blue top.
