it seems as though the motor for the forward/back adjustment has given out.

the relay seems to work though - i hear it click when the button is slid in both the fore/aft directions.

can the motor be replaced or is it sold as the entire assembly?

another question - the seat is in the aft position (because of the "easy out") and the rear nuts/bolts are next to impossible to reach. is there a way to manually advance the seat?

thanks.

Hi there,
Well, there are a few things here.
First, your seat cannot be moved manually, without power.
I have to take time to undo the bolts, when the seat doesnt move. Not fun, thats for sure.
As for the problem, I would check the seat control module for codes, as there may be a relay, or motor problem, even though you hear the click.
And the motors are NOT available separately, you have to purchase the adjuster, unfortunately.
I hope this helps, c4c5:hb

C4C5 -

Thanks - I should have posted that I had already checked the DIC for codes on the SCM. No history or currents.

I'm going to butter up my hands with Crisco to get them behind the seat to remove those 2 fasteners after I receive the adjuster.

Its too bad GM just didnt reverse those (2) fasteners and put the access from underneath the car.

Thanks for your help.

SEAT ADJUSTER TSB OUT ON THAT

i HAD MINE REPLACED HAD TSB OUT ON THAT PROBLEM CALLED ROCKING CHAIR...ENTIRE SEAT RAIL WAS REPLACED WITH ADJUSTER...CHECK WITH YOUR DEALER ON THAT ONE...:w

This project has been on my list for a while now - no hurry on it though because the seat was in the normal driving position.

I was able to move the seat forward by supplying 12VDC from a power supply straight to the forward/back motor.

Upon removal, I found the rear rocker adjuster was broken (probably why it shifted on hard braking/acceleration).

The adjuster was replaced and it did not help the original symptom - no movement.

There is a code on the DIC now which wasnt there before

A6 SCM B2860 H

Could someone decipher that for me? I purchased a new seat control module, waiting for a nice day to replace it to see if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

John
