actually the plastic is broken. My corvette is a 1995. Has anyone been able to repair this? I have tried epoxy, and I have tried using a fiberglass kit, but nothing will hold the cracks together for any length of time.

Can this be repaired or should I just go buy another door panel? I sure hate to spend the bucks, but if that's what I have to do....

I read somewhere that you can fabricate a patch using aluminum & rivits??????

Might be worth a try as the panels are not cheap.:confused

It depends on where its cracked. Can you post a pic?

My 95 has a loose top on the driver's side door panel too! Wonder if this is endemic to 95's?

I haven't seen any cracks though, it looks as though one of the panel fastners is missing... suppose I should stop being lazy and take it off to see, eh?

Not sure about fixing a crack, but I spoke with a buddy of mine that has a triple black 40th anniversary vert and he just finished some work on the C4 door panels. The panels on both my doors are loose as well. He said that they were not put on correctly and that they don't use fasteners like you see in most doors. That's all I got and haven't looked at mine yet either, but he said it was pretty easy to work on. The thing that took him the longest time was figuring out that there was a screw in door panel behind the lock slider in the door. Evidentally this piece lifts and slides out? Have to check mine out as well.

Good luck,

Leon

Hey Gorgon... Nice car.... Looks familiar some how.... ;)

Some of these door panels tends to climb up and come loose on the striker side. What keeps these panels in place is plastic tabs that goes through the door panel and fastens to inner metal panel. When the holes on the door panel is is punched too low, thid will allow the panel to move up and climb over the catch on top. Solution is to shim the hole in the panel(I did this) or glue a plastic shhet over the hole from behind and redrill a hole higher then the original hole.
Hope this helps.

I see what you mean. You didn't take any pictures of my car and try to pass them off as your own did you? ;)

BTW, I like the C5 polished wheels on your car. Thinking about adding some to mine. :cool

If I remember correctly you recently got you car. How do you like it so far? Got mine in July and have loved ever minute of it.:Steer
