It was yellow, had zero miles on it and I drove it at both Nurburgring and in Paris.
Now that you think I'm full of crap, it was on Xbox. My son came to me all excited because they had new content download for Xbox, 7 new cars and the entire city of Paris. When he said the C6 was at the top of the list I said go for it.
After the download, we proceeded to put it through it's paces. After driving a lap or two on a triangular track to get the feel for the car, we raced three laps while I drove it and had my son drive a Z06. He is at least as good as me on the game since he spends more than twice as much time as I do on it, though he is only 12.
Against the Z06, it was nearly even until the 4-5 shift which seems a little taller than the Z06 5th because the Z pulled ahead a 1/2 car length immediately after the shift. I was still able to keep up and I think that it handled a little better than the Z06 through the turns and braked better. It felt really good and didn't seem to have the tendency to spin out in hard turns, really balanced. I ended up winning the race, my son clipped a guard rail on a quick S turn and I beat him by a good bit. If not for the mess up, I think I still could have beat him, they were very even.
We left Paris and went to Nurburgring to do some high speed runs. It made 184 mph on its own and I drafted to 189-90 mph with faster cars. I started against a Ferrari 360 Modena, again it was dead even like the Z06 until the 4-5 shift, but didn't lose as much to the 360 as to the Z. Since the 360's top speed is 189 mph, it eventually pulled away on a really long stretch, though I could pull even if I drafted, but couldn't get around.
The same was true when I went against a Viper GTS, though it would hook up better off the line and nearly always get 3/4 of a car length by the 2-3 shift. Again, the Vipers top speed was 189 mph, so I never passed it, and could only pull to the door when drafting.
Then the Mustang SVT Cobra, no contest, I pulled ahead almost immediately and continued to pull all the way to the top. The Cobra tops out at 144 mph so it saw nothing but tail getting further and further away.
Lastly, I tried it against a TVR Cerbrera. This race was embarrassing, the car has a top speed of 230 mph and accelerates like you wouldn't believe. By the time I hit 80 mph, the TVR was at 130 and it kept that 50 mph gap all the way to the top. Then we tried giving me a head start to 100 mph, but the TVR still caught me within a mile.
Since I won't even be able to consider a C6 for at least 10 years, this vicariously is the next best thing. And for $5, it put a smile on my face. (It is Project Gotham Racing 2 and you have to be connected to the Live On-Line to be able to get the download, only on Xbox)
