Had a little experience whilst putting the car back together again. A small lever that connects the self adjuster to a sprign went broke.

...so here is my little tip.....

To avoid just buying the star screw that alone is comparably expensive go for the total kit (self adjuster kit) which includes all the hardware, lever and springs + the star screw for just 6 bucks more than the single screw.....

You can see the broken lever in front of the new kit (supplied by Bendix)

car looks great (from your othe post) and thanks for the advice.I am one for getting all the stuff at once then trying to save some money and do it peace meal, I just dont understand how that broke isnt it hardened steel?

Actually the parts did not look too bad and all the other hardware got replaced...so new shoes, new springs....and stuff but the adjuster and related is not included in these kits.

Whilst putting it back it cracked.....and we found out that it must have had done a harm to it before as the crack surface had a piece of it looking older....

...glad that it happend putting it together and not driving.

BTW all my brake system is new. New master cylinder new SS lines new shoes, new calipers....I´m not a fan of saving money on cost of security...
