Thats a good link. Dymags are light... No Question about it!

Thanks :) Yeah, It is interesting to see how the other wheels stack, compared to the magnesium Dy's

No wonder they are used in racing so much...

Down in the second section, Fikse, OZ and others are all listed.
Glad it helped :beer

[Reproducing these wheels, just as AFS has reproduced the corvette factory 5 star, makes even the real ZR1 factory 5 star worthless in reality compared to its original price due to there being so many of them.

I haven't been able to find a set of stockers in good shape used under 1K, I can get a new set for $1400 so I don't think AFS has killed the price of GM AMolds that bad?

Hi all,

I'm new to the Action Center.

Although I don't have one (Yet) I've always loved the Callaway's.
As close as I've come is the speedster interior in my ZR1.

Anyway... I would love to see the 2nd design Dymags available
in ZR1 sizes and possibly an 18 x 11 for the rear.

I hope everyone had a good New Years.
Chat with you soon,

THe REAL Zr1 5 spoke wheels were about 4K when they came out... So were the Dymags.... I would say they have a definate impact on the value.

Wow.. 4K! I didn't know that!! I guess AFS did make an impact then!

I assume that the GS and the CE prob brought the cost down a bit too.

Yeah, 4k does seem a bit much - I was talking to a freind tonight, about the original ZR1 wheels and about $600 per wheel (through GM) seeemed to stick in his mind (for the 17x11's).

He told me he just bought a set of AFS wheels and two of them, in the box weighed 70lbs :eek

There will always be a market for an extremely lightweight wheel for Vettes as 12lbs per wheel is hard to compare w/ what is out there, aftermarket :upthumbs

I do think an 18" 5 spoke Dymag would be a nice addition to the Callaways (or any Vette really... ) to take advantage of current tire technology - tag & bag the originals, or use them as (nice) endtables in the rec room ;)

89x2,

Thanks for the welcome. I just purchased my first digital camera.
When I get my ZR1 back from Marc Haibeck I will take some pics.
Hopefully, by then, I will have figured out how to post them.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Roger:beer

not a problem :beer

re: posting pic's - one of two ways, If you have a website and the pic is already hosted / uploaded there, youcan click & copy the properties of that pic and simply insert those properties in the
or, down at the bottom of every post you make, you have the option to attach one image from your computers files...
The size limit on this is 85kb and you simply click "browse" then search your computers files and attach just like you would attach something to an e-mail. :upthumbs

The image shows as an attachment and won't pop up by itself, either way though, can't wait to see the Callaway interior!!!

I drove my car today....Im not sure if there is a better looking wheel than a clean bright silver dymag :D Or maybe its just b/c I know what kind of car its on and how much its worth. :L

18 inch Magnesium wheels

Anyone interested in a set of these for your Callaway??

- They were used on the Comm. Ed. C8 by Callaway & also the recently completed Speedster :upthumbs

18x10, with possibilities of 18x12 w/ the correct offsets :)

There are about 10 sets avail. from Callaway Cars

I had an interesting discussion about this, on Tuesday and it could become a possibility IF there was genuine interest in the DYMAG wheel for Corvettes.

Assuming this is the 2nd design and I could afford them.. I would buy these.. I love this style wheel.. Even though I don't have a Callaway

Chris, how much are those wheels? I saw them on the last speedster...kinda liked em.

18x12 ?

With a 18x12 on this wheel on the speedster did it stick out past the wheel well? What was the offset? Any idea on the price for a set 18x10s front 18x12 rear?

Speedster used the 18x10's on all 4 corners -
Big John, here on the site, has recently added them to his silver Vert - They did not look to go past the Aerobody, he may be able to advise you on their cost... He removed A-molds and put those on :upthumbs Great choice :m

Wheels

I think if i had a callaway, the DYMAG has a much better
look. So I would have to go with a DYMAG.
