Good luck w/ the sale - Yesterday @ the Kerbeck show in Atlantic City, there were a few Vettes for sale, sorry I missed ya' :v :w

It looks like someone bought it at $22,7K with new tires for a 90 with 6 spd. Not bad

I agree - Good deal for someone! Aurora40 said the original seller (before Fastdaddy) offered him the car for $23k so it is even better than the original deal!

A lot of car for the money :eek

Care to explain why it's re-listed? Your reserve was met by a seemingly reputable buyer (based on feedback).

Look at how the bid history went. Also for a car that was sold reserve met why does he still have it and why is it backup for sale again. Bid rigging is a NO-NO.

I looked again and see a bit what you mean, but still speculation... I am very curious as to what happened though :confused

I never understood putting a reserve auction up anyway; it has always worked better for me to just put the starting price at the minimum price acceptable to me. I have always sold my stuff for more than the minimum, and the items always sell.

In general, I think any eBay issue is mostly speculation. Something doesn't seem or look right. I'd think rarely if ever is there an overwhelming amount of proof.

All kinds of things could have happened. The buyer couldn't come up with the cash, he had some emergency come up, he went to get the car and it wasn't the condition he felt advertised. But of course one possibility is that the seller put a reserve too low, it didn't make the price he wanted, so he bid on it, and then "fell through" to avoid paying the eBay percentage. It's just one possibility, mildly supported by the seller stating previously he'd put a $26,000 reserve on the car. In these cases, where there's only possibility or speculation, maybe a history of similar behavior is what you'd look for. Certainly anyone selling anything can have a buyer fall through.

Since the buyer was in New York, it's quite possible he went in short order to get the car, and didn't feel like it matched his vision of what it should be. In that case, one probably wouldn't leave negative feedback for the bidder, nor the seller. And it could have happened quickly enough to be back on eBay the next day.

I don't know anything about the seller or the bidder, and have no opinion on what happened or on anyones past reputation. However, if the seller would like to court buyers from the Corvette Action Center, then it would seem reasonable to expect some small explanation of why the car's back on the block.

Just two cents from some guy on the Internet. :) :w

When I initially asked the question it was in hopes that Scott, the owner, would quickly explain and avoid all this speculation.

Wow !! I you guys are beating me up , as you see by my ebay score i'm a credible ebayer with that said I'm no expert on ebay I tried to time lowering the reserve in conjuntion in what i thought was a serious buyer asking alot of questions the buyer was at my garage within 2 hours of the ending of the auction to renew negotiations i explained that as far as i was concerned we had a deal so i had 2 choices to take the 100 ebay fee from him and relist immediately or wait the 7 days request payment negative him ....this could go on for weeks ! so I figures I'd cut bait , string another hook and move on to a new buyer . I might shoot out to englishtown on monday its only about 1/2 hour if anyone interested in seeing the car. thank you

scott
