,ve been checking the prices on EBAY for a hypertech programmer there only getting about 1/3 of the orginal price. now i,ve been told that as long as the programmer memory of the car's vin number has been erased you can reuse it in another car, is that true? would you purchase one of these units off EBAY?
have you heard of or come to know of any experences of anyone who has purchased a hypertech programmer off EBAY?
your input will be appericated?
thanks boonie2

The only thing they are good for is adjusting shift points/firmness and turning your fans on sooner. I had one with their engine program on my car. I ran it on the dyno and then ran it without. I lost about 5 hp across the power band and the power band was very eratic with the Hypercrap.

Once your VIN is loaded into a Hypertech, no other car can use the programming. If somebody has F'd around with your PCM or this hypertech, dont buy it.

Its better for Autos, as it adjusts shift points and firmness well. Fan settings and gear changes too.

Performance settings are worthless.

:w Hyperpuke is not for a corvette engine and the guys selling them on the net now make claims it will smoke your computer in your car.
I have a hyperpuke and almost lost my engine. :mad dont use any of the engine settings!
use the 160 fan setting and the rear end tire sizing gear and trans setting only the firmness!
:( do not use the trans shift points if you do use trans shift points the computer has to be set back to stock settings and readjusted after you figure out if the trans rpm were set where you want for each shift point. if you cant afford a chip to perform these settings then buy the hyperpuke.also remember to disconect your computer for :eek 90 secs before programing for the first time with hyperpuke. also be careful where you set your revlimiter with this unit . :cry
the hyperpuke can be used on other cars but you must set your car back to stock settings to use on another same year and type vhl. :w
