The black headliner on my coupe is starting to fall in the middle. I would like to replace the entire panel rather than glue new material on the old one. Although Chevy says they no longer have the complete panel nor headliner material, Ecklers has a replacement headliner (black only, including the panel) for $149.99.

First, has anybody bought this part? If so, is it any good and does it match the original one? Second, is it very difficult to remove and replace the headliner panel on a '93?

I tried the search, but all replies covered only regluing, not the Ecklers part.

$150 seems like a lot for a piece of foam with foam-backed cloth attached. If a 93 is as easy to do as my 86, you can buy the fabric and glue from any number of places, pop out the old panel, peel the liner, cut and glue the new one on, and pop it back in for about an hour's work (not counting dry time) and $20.

Vette magazine had an article on replacing the headliner. It was in the April 2001 issue. They may still have it on their website. If not let me know & I'll send it to you.
