Ecklers Wtf??

GM parts direct have dura stop cross drilled rotors for $40 and have been selling them like crazy.

I called Ecklers since I have a gift cert and their web site said the price match guaranteed . They told me that they can't match GM directs price because it is too low.

WTF IS THE GUARANTEED LOWEST PRICE MEAN THEN!!!!

No company can predict a competitor will dump inventory at rediculous prices.
Ecklers was up front with you ; what's the problem? Buy them from GM.

Their guarantee does seem pretty cut and dried.
I would be annoyed too.
As for recourse? I don't know. It would not be worth the expense of suing them for false advertising.

The sales person should be fireds for not honoring the request , it IS written, much better to accommadate a customer then lose them. It wouldnt have broke the bank. IMO

It went to supervision then to a director after I raised hell, same answer, sorry, no, go buy them from them. I am working on getting cash for my gift cert and be done with their BS.

FYI - gmpartsdirect IS NOT associated with GM - they are clearing house and you need to be REAL CAREFUL when you are pricing - sometimes to get the price that is quoted you need to buy in large quantities

Thanks for venting here, I think Ecklers is the most complained about vendor on this forum. I don't use them unless I absolutely can't find the part anywhere else. Their only redeeming point at the moment, they have a huge catalog of available parts.

I stopped buying from Ecklers. They charge almost double for shipping compared to some of the other vendors. It would have cost $6 to ship a $5 bolt. That did it for me.

I haven't bought anything from Eckler's and likely won't for sure now. There are just too many options on where to buy things without worrying about this kind of negative behavior.

Where I come from, a promise is a promise, and one's word is one's word. They told you who they really are.

At least the gift cert. didn't cost YOU anything. However, I would fight like a pit bull to get remunerated for the value because someone paid them MONEY for it. If they wanted to play hardball with me, then that would be the game. They have a lot more to lose than you.

Most of the vette owners I speak to here in Italy buy there stuff from Eckler's. And they usually ask if I buy from Eckler's too. I try to tell them about Corvette Central or Mid America.

LOL, Pep Boys. I am amazed that they are still in biz in my town. I have one 2 miles from my house... and that is the ONLY reason I go there... it's close. When I need something important... I go anywhere but there.

They must not be. Every time we get a complaint here with someone just wanting to vent a little anger or disappointment, the other suppliers (such as Mid America) usually respond and try to make things right. Not once have I seen a response, or read a defense from anyone at Eckler's, posted here.

They evidently don't visit us here at the CAC, or they simply don't care.

Every thing I have tried to buy from their catalog was not available anymore. I have been trying to buy a shifter button for my 4+3 for a year now and they have had a part number for it in their last two catalogs! But they don't have it and can't get it?:eyerole
