ECM and EPROMS

There is a thread in the C-4 MODS about changing the ECM for an updated one that has links to other pages that set me on my ear. I now have all the programs that will allow anyone with a laptop to plug into the ADL and watch what your engine is doing along with programs that allow you to alter the binary file in the eprom. Granted you have to be computer literate along with owning and access eprom burner/reader, and be able to build the interface cable for the ADL to pc. Basically you build the cable then connect the pc to the ADL then run the program, what you see is what the ecm is doing in real time to the engine along with most of the sensors.
I had no idea this info was available....Thanks to Jeff.... I get to go play now...more to follow.

I am interested...

I had worked with a friend of mine who is extremely intelligent (engineer & MD) and he had actually raced with Porsche and helped designed the infamous 911 engine from the ground up.
We still go out there and use his old CompuAdd 386 laptop to make adjustments and changes to the performance of the car. It is really interesting that he can tune all of the major aspects of the engine's computerized performance via this interface. Also displays graphs after each run and all. This is all a custom application that was written for this purpose.

Email me the info on the program and the software if you can. It is truly much appreciated. While I may be tweaking everything in sight - it will be nice to have that chance if desired. Thanks for paving the road for us.
