So....I go to put my new Edelbrock Performer heads on yesterday and I find that the spark plug wire separators that mount at the rear of the block are in the way....had to remove them to get the heads on.

Has anyone been able to use the Edelbrock heads and the stock wire routing or am I going to have to change to top wire routing??

There are a couple of plug wire holders that bolt on the block on the bellhousing flange. Are these the ones that had to come off? You could use those and drop the wires down the back of the engine and run forward under the headers. Front 2 on each side would still have to be secured to the motor mounts, but it would keep the wires off the manifold/headers.

I have the stock wire holders, the ones that bolt to the block just to the rear of each head. These were hitting up against the Edlebrock heads. So I had to remove them to get the heads on.

I guess my choices are to just let the wires hang and use a separator; I still use the original wire routing and shields.
OR
I could get the rail type that mounts to the valve cover bolts....which would require me to move the oil dip stick tube out towards the front wheel a bit more. This type looks very neat, but would require a complete new set of cut to length wires.

I am told that since I have headers that it would be better to run the wires above the header tubes than where I currenty have them.
