EGR Valve

I would assume you would need it to pass emissions. But I imagine that you could just cut off that circulation and it would be fine. But I also heard that EGR doesn't hurt or help performance, so you might consider putting it back on.

Bob- No problem. You most likely have the 2101,same one I have.
No EGR,no problem at all. I just made sure to block off all the vacum lines involved with the EGR system(I eliminated all the emission junk).

Hi Bob,
I just recently installed an Edelbrock Performer 2101 (non EGR) manifold on my 77 as well. There's no problem running it that way at all. I have all the emissions junk removed from my car as well. No sniff test in N.Y. either for vehicles over 25 yrs. old.:_rock. I am running the stock Q-jet with it, it runs really nice, how do you like difference it makes?

It's not a monster difference, but there is definiately more jump off the line and more mid range torque than before, and besides that it looks really cool when you open the hood. Definiately worth the money in my opinion.

The car wasn't ready this afternoon. The rubber fuel lines up front are cracking so I let the mechanic replace them.

I did get a good look. They cleaned out all the old crud in the valley, painted it blue like the manifold covers and have the silver manifold in. Looks good.

I'll have it tomorrow.

Larry- I also feel it was a good investment. Lower to midrange torque noticeable as you say. Edelbrock says about 15-20 hp gain out of the box. Highy recommended modification for the $$.
