This morning on my way to work I was driving my 94' LT1 Coupe and it was around 5:00am (obviously still dark) any way as I'm driving along I have the radio off and I keep hearing sounds like my door lock is buzzing? and everytime it buzzes my interior lights flash off and on? and when I lock the door, it unlocks itself?
any clue as to what might be causing this? ;shrug

I don't have a remote. :J

The symptom you describe is the same you will get when the remote battery gets low. You replied earlier that you do not have
a remote. Could the old remot be lost or misplaced somewhere in the cat?
Just a guess
Garnett

If you haven't as yet, I would check your
door switches?:confused

Well I really don't know, When I bought the vehicle I wasen't given a remote, so I don't know the answer?

Lucky

When I bought my '95 I had to lay out $135 for a PKE fob.
You've evidently got one hiding in your car.
The lower seat cushion will pull out if you release the wire handle in the front middle. Then you can see much better.
Check the console and rear storage (behind the passenger seat) too. Unscrew the hatch cover behind the driver's seat (where the antilock brake control is located) and look there. Even under the passenger seat. Check the compartments under the door armrests. If all else fails, drop the spare tire. Tear it apart! When you discover the PKE fob, replace the battery.

jmccloud forgive my ignorance, but what is a PKE fob?

caddy - Passive Keyless Entry. The remote, in other words.

I just bought my first vette last night and had noticed as I was cruising around that every now and then the interior lights would flash on then off really quick, didn't hear a buzzing or anything (had the radio on), but I do know that there was a problem with the PKP that the dealer had to order a part, not sure what. Is it possible that this was due to the fob battery as well?

PKE fob/remote

Sorry for the tardy reply, our electric is still going on and off from Isabel. Thanks for jumping in jrp.
There are several threads about the battery in the remote and how it's tricky to get the battery installed correctly. Near the top of this window there's a 'Search' menu. Look for PKE, remote, etc. There are some good clues there. I've not had to mess with mine as it's only a little over a year old.
Good luck.

firedawg: You probably have a door switch that needs adjusting. The flexing of the car is probably allowing the door switch to open momentarily causing the lights to flash. If you're fast, you may also see the "Door Ajar" message on the dash. If so, check out the door switches.

On my 92, the switch plunger has a center shaft that can be extended. Mine would not stay extended so I slipped a very small o-ring around it and it's working fine now.
