The paint scheme is kind of like a combination of the 1996 Grand Sport and the 2004 Commemorative, only utilising Electron Blue instead of Admiral.
I’ve always liked that fiery blue you see on Subaru WRX's, however I was loath to the idea of putting a Subaru's paint on a Corvette.
Having always believed the WRX as looking like a transformer that hasn’t quite been folded into car mode, it would be a bit hypocritical of me to pinch the paint job off one.
Besides, it just felt right to pick a GM color, and the closest I’ve seen to the Subbies was in a pic of a 2002 C5, which was sporting Electron Blue Metallic.
In any case having eventually got my car painted in Electron Blue, I was a first a little disappointed that it isn’t as bright & fiery as the Subbies (unless bright sunlight is directly hitting it), but I soon learned that the darker shade seems more..well..mature.
Besides, I later learned that a car like the Corvette doesn’t need a "loud" color anyway.
BTW
As nice as my C4 is, I absolutely love to own a C6 or even a C5 like the ones you own. Rare as hen’s teeth over here because of the hassle and expense of importing a left-hand-drive car that’s younger then 15 years.
I only know of one guy in Western Australia that owns a C5 and as far as I know, there are less then four C6s in the nation! (most likely all located in Sydney)
