Electronic Column Lock System Recall?

I just received in the mail yesterday a recall on the column lock. The notice states that "according to our records as of September 25, 2004, the following open recall(s) have not been completed on your Chevrolet" ..... 04006 ELECTRONIC COLUMN LOCK SYSTEM.

Is this a different recall than the one I had done in 2002? The paperwork from the dealership states that they completed recall # 01044. Is there another problem that was not fixed with the first recall?? Thanks in advance for any light shed on this.

the only recall listed at NHTSA for your 2000 Corvette is the 04006, which was issued on Feb 4, 2004

as I suspected - 01044 was NOT a recall - it was a Technical Service Bulletin, so your dealer may have done something, but you definitely need to get in and have them check your column lock to be sure the problem has been resolved - peace of mind as they say

you are correct.....01044 was a TSB. I went to the website and found out that even if 01044 corrective action was taken, you should still go in and have the PCM reprogrammed. My dealer already has replaced the wiring harness, so now he will only have to do the reprogramming and testing of clearances of the locking mechanism..
Thanks for the help.:_rock
