I had a leak on my old engine coolant tank. i replaced it but I noticed that on the cap their is two hoses. A thin one and a bigger one. I see that the smaller hose is connected underneath the radiator cap. Does anybody know were the biggest one goes from the cap.

I think (but I may be wrong) that the tanks were there as an overflow.

On My 62.........

The larger one goes to the radiator, the smaller one is the overflow.

When the cap on the plastic coolant tank is installed the 2 nipples are facing forward in the direction of the radiator. The smaller hose fitting is connected to the radiator the larger fitting has a piece of hose attached about 10” in length and just dumps out before it gets to the upper control arm area. Remember to install a hose on the underside of the coolant tank cap on the smaller hose that is cut to length so it reaches to the bottom of the coolant tank.
