Engine Kills

I have a 1984 Auto. and every once in awhile when it starts it putters and the engine dies. I don't know the source of this problem If it starts right it runs fine until the next time I start It does anyone know what may cause this?

Do you have any codes being set when this occurs? Off-hand it sounds to me like the Idle Air Control, but I don't have a book on the Cross-Fire system, just my '87 manual and that of course is for TPI.

Hopefully, by my re-opening this thread, you'll get some more response.

No codes appear it just putters dead, it seems to be working since i put in some fuel Injector cleaner but I will tell you if it works after I use the whole gas tank.
