Engine Rebuild Kits

My 90k mile, 190 horsepower motor needs a little more giddy-up. Does anyone know of a good rebuild kit, with pistons, cam, etc., to give the old 1981 motor a boost? Problem is that I am in Calif. and SMOG rules apply. I would give my right arm for a smog legal 10.5 to 1 piston, 275-300 hp kit.

I don't know about in CA, but here in PA, NAPA used to have a very good rebuild kit for small blocks and the price wasn't too bad back when I redid my 400 small block. I even got .030 over pistons and a bigger cam all for around $800.00 but keep in mind that was several years ago......
