A previous thread somebody mentioned that I might not need to remove the engine if I were to install headers in the Vette. Is that true? Do you just slip them in from the bottom?

I just put in Hooker sidepipes and a couple jacks and jackstands were all I needed.

Hey Stallion

Ive tried both........

1 Putting the engine in with headers attached.... easy answer. DONT TRY IT!:hb

2 Putting headers in from underneath........answer EASY AS PIE!:Twist

Good Luck!

I put in my heddman headers from the top, no problems, but, I dont have any heater/ air cond stuff under the hood.

From the top?!

Yep, piece of cake. Pulled the plugs, removed the manifolds, dropped them in. Remember, I dont have that bulky air conditioning nose sticking into the engine compartment on the passenger side, and my steering column extension is different and I have no steering box (rack and pinion), gives me a lot more room to work with. It was nice to not have to grovel around uinder the car.

I'm jealous, but it seems I'll be the one "grovelling" around under her. ;)

doesnt really matter how they go in, the end result is what really matters. Good luck with the install.

Might be tricky trying to drop the engine back in with these on. ;)

I agree. Just make sure you have the car up high enough to manipulate the headers around the frame and suspension.
