Engine Stall / Total Shut Down

I am currently having an issue where the car will lose power / stall when driving. I have recently had it die / lose power completely when idling in park and turning the headlights on (taking them off automatic). Has anyone else experienced this issue? I had recently done some research and thought it was an ECM issue if it were only happening during driving but now with the car shutting down while idling and turning on the headlights it seems it is a larger problem. Thanks in advance for any insight on this.

First off Welcome to CAC, Jebus. :w You have tapped into a treasure trove of knowledge here. Please understand, I am not one of the experts here :L, but my first thought would be were any codes set? Have you checked? If so, what codes were set? Next, my thoughts go to your battery. Have you had the battery checked out thoroughly? Do you have a battery that meets the specs set forth by the GM engineers? Battery power for these cars is extremely important. When you talk about it dying or losing power when you turn the lights on makes me think battery/charging system.

Again, I'm not a mechanic, just someone with an interest and passing knowledge. Welcome again to CAC and I hope someone with more smarts than I will be by quickly to give you a helping hand.

Sounds like it might be a charging problem with marginal battery strength, but Tom's right. Go to a friendly auto chain store and have them read the codes that hopefully have been thrown. You should get a good clue based on that.
