engine start question

My 93 has always started very quick--like 1/2 second of cranking time--lately (when cold) it cranks several seconds before starting--this did not bother me until it kinda backed-fired the other day while cranking. Has done this several times, but not every time. When warmed up, it starts quick with no back-fire. Car has 80K miles--plugs & wires changed out @ 50K--any one had this condition????

Temperature Sensor is not telling the ECM the engine is cold,it may be working at higher temps! Replace it!! It may or may not throw a Code!!:upthumbs
