Can anyone tell me what year corvette engine will fit my "new" 85 coupe?

Thanks

Many, but in the most practical sense, any '85 through '91 C4 L98 is a drop in. You may have to swap around a few minor components to stay compatible with the '85 ECM but that's about it.

I'm sure you can use others, but here is the Hollander exchange:

K ----------
CORVETTE 8 (8-350, 5.7L, VIN "8")
Chevrolet 5.7L (8-350).

Small block Chevy cylinder heads came with six or seven exhaust manifold bolts, see illustrations & notes at beginning of part type in Hollander Manual for additional information.

Change induction, exhaust & electrical systems as necessary.

Change oil pans and dipstick locations as necessary.

1980 & newer engines have the dipstick on right side.

When using older engines in newer applications, make sure knock sensor can be transferred when used.

When using older engines in newer applications, drill and tap holes for accessories as needed.

|A| thru |M| interchange as shown in notes.

K -----------

T.P.I.

E.G.R. equipped.

Knock sensor used.

All intake manifold bolts use the same angle.

|C|, |D|, |F| & |J| fit |K|; |B| & |E| fit |K|, but are non-E.G.R. equipped; |G|, |H| & |M| fit |K| by including flywheel.
