engine vin codes

I need some help with some vin numbers on a 350 chevrolet motor.The number is V0692735,The engine is in a -91 corvette

Is this the number off of the "stamp pad" on the block in front of the passanger side head? If so, there should be two sets of numbers there. One would look like V1122ZZZ where V=Flint engine plant, 1122=build date (Nov 22), and ZZZ=engine usage (a '91 would have ZTA or ZTC if automatic or ZTB is manual). The other number has part of the VIN in it something like the number you posted, V0692735. The last 5 or 6 digits should match the last 5 or 6 of the VIN of the car. By that your VIN should end in 92735. Is it correct. Post the other number and we can help you with a more complete ID.
